Welcome back to your 7-day yoga exploration! I’m so happy you’re still here!

Yesterday we talked about how to recruit our glutes for a strong, stable yoga practice. Today we’ll take a look at restorative yoga.

Restorative yoga relies heavily on props (you know I’m a big fan)! One thing I like about restorative yoga is that each person’s setup is usually different. With props, we adapt the yoga pose to each unique body.

The goal of restorative yoga is to make yourself as comfortable and fully supported as possible. For those of us who are used to fitness environments where competition is a way of life, this can be disorienting or unsettling. It can feel like work just to rest.

Restorative yoga is about meeting yourself and your body right where you are — and learning to enjoy the “work” of relaxation.

If you can learn to ease into restorative yoga, rest, and let go, self-care can become a priority, instead of something to escape. Let’s explore this together on the mat!

Thanks for trying restorative yoga with me! Tomorrow, we’ll be finishing up our 7-day yoga exploration by demystifying downward-facing dog.

See you on the mat!
