Having trouble stepping forward from downward-facing dog into a lunge or walking your feet up to your hands? We’ll look at some transitions in this video!
Want to learn to adapt sun salutations to YOUR body?
I created a program where you can learn how to “choose your own adventure” when it comes to sun salutations. In these videos, we’ll learn modifications and variations on poses to make the movements safe and enjoyable for all bodies.
Whether you practice seated, at the wall, with a chair, or on the mat with props, you will learn your customized sun salutation so you can move into any yoga class and practice confidently, no matter what the teacher is cueing at the front of the class.
Good ideas — thanks Amber! Like you,
I find it easiest to get there from a kneeling position. All the best to you in your move to Richmond!
THanks for the transitional options. Nice to share with my students. Not everyone is able to make this transition easily and some students feel very frustrated when they can’t make an easy transition from downdog to a lunge. Love your adaptations keep them coming.
I walk my hands to my feet all the time and it works really well. I think I saw it on a previous video and I adopted it then. I’m also using blocks a lot more and i have to thank you for that – showing how it can be done. Thank you.
That was very affirming as you outlined some strategies I have found for myself. Maybe this body does actually know whats best for it.
I’m definitely going to give these a try. It’s so frustrating not to even come close! Thanks!
Thank you, I’ve been struggling with this for a while. I really appreciate the tips. Gonna try them all.
I need those pants! *.* Can you tell me where you got them? It is still so difficult to find anything pretty in the sports department in bigger sizes here in Germany. Thank you! (And thank you for this website!)
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I seriously needed this video and these tips. Excellent info.
Thank you you’re awesome 💖
Thank you so much!!! I’m a yoga teacher and I noticed one of my students having a challenge with this transition.
I now can offer her options. Thank you for sharing the knowledge.
