In the past, my New Year’s resolutions were defined by shame and self-blame. Rather than setting goals that were actually about my values and what I wanted for my life, I was always planning to kick my year off based on what was wrong with me or what needed to be “fixed.”
From the inevitable “lose weight” goal that topped the list (every year) to other resolutions that were someone else’s idea of success, I got really tired of shame-based goals and the inevitable failure that came with them. And then the beating myself up for failing again.
I left those shame-based resolutions behind a long while ago, and I’ve got good news for you, too: you can set goals for yourself to have the best year ever, and they don’t have to be based in shame or self-blame.
You don’t need to play out the same old story of feeling like a failure come February.
This workbook will hopefully help you to start the new year off right, with goals that feel authentic and positive to you. It’s time to tap into your “why” and then make plans for positive changes for your mind, body, and soul.
Here’s to living out loud without shame or apology in 2018!
