Yesterday, we tried restorative yoga, and today we’ll explore one of the most common yoga poses—downward-facing dog.
Adho mukha svanasana. What a mouthful. Downward-facing dog is one of the most widely recognized yoga postures, but it’s also a complicated one. Down dog works the whole body, and can build strength, increase flexibility, relieve back pain, and bring all the benefits of an inversion. It also can be a huge source of frustration to yoga beginners or folks in larger bodies.
Today, we’re going to break down this pose step by step and troubleshoot some common issues in down dog. Let’s go!
Thank you so much for joining me for this 7-day exploration of yoga. I hope you were able to learn something new about your body, approach a new type of movement with curiosity, and feel a little better physically.
I’d love to continue to share the practice of yoga with you. Stay tuned for more in your inbox soon!
See you on the mat!
